At Shyna Promise, we are building a team of support workers who genuinely love what they do. We are looking for people who bring skill, patience, warmth and heart to their role.

We support children, young people and adults with disability to feel safe, included, respected and confident in their everyday lives.

Some days are about personal care and health support. Some days are about building independence, getting out into the community, or helping someone feel calm and understood through a hard moment.

About You

In order to match you to potential participants we need to learn a little more about you.

This role may involve light physical tasks such as walking for extended periods, bending, reaching, carrying light items, supporting safe community access, assisting with daily living tasks, using stairs, setting up activities and following safe manual handling procedures. Do you have any injury, medical condition, physical limitation or restriction that may affect your ability to safely perform these duties?

Screening History *

Have you ever had a worker screening check, Blue Card, Yellow Card, police clearance or professional registration refused, suspended, cancelled or restricted?

Have you ever been charged with or convicted of an offence that may be relevant to working with children, people with disability or vulnerable people?

Have you ever been the subject of an investigation, complaint, disciplinary action or finding relating to abuse, neglect, exploitation, violence, fraud, theft, professional misconduct or boundary breaches in a care, disability, health, education or community services role?

Vehicle & Driving *

Do you have access to a reliable, clean registered vehicle?

Do you hold current Comprehensive Car Insurance for the above mentioned vehicle?

Do you hold a clean driving record with no suspension or restrictions?

SCENARIO 1

You are supporting a young participant for community access. They love gaming and ask if they can come to your house to play PlayStation because "no one will know I came around; it is totally fine." What do you do?

SCENARIO 2

You take a lovely photo of a participant smiling at the park. You think it would look great on your personal Facebook because it shows how caring you are. What do you do?

SCENARIO 3

A participant becomes upset and tries to leave the house. You are worried they might walk onto the road. What should you do?
