Daily Living Assistance through the NDIS is support provided in a participant's home to help them manage everyday tasks safely, confidently and with as much independence as possible.

This can include personal care, morning and evening routines, meal preparation, medication prompts, light household tasks, skill building, and support to follow individual care or mealtime plans.

At Shyna Promise, we don't just show up and get through a checklist. We take the time to understand you β€” your preferences, your pace, your goals β€” and deliver support that genuinely fits your life.

Shopping Support

Grocery planning, in-person & online shopping, building choice and independence.

Our support workers can assist participants to plan and manage their grocery shopping in a way that builds confidence, choice and independence. This may include helping to create a grocery list, checking what is already at home, planning simple meals, comparing prices, shopping in person, ordering groceries online, or unpacking and storing items safely once they arrive.

Cooking Support

Meal preparation, kitchen safety, following recipes and building healthy food routines.

Our support workers can assist participants with cooking and meal preparation in a way that builds confidence, safety and everyday independence. This may include choosing simple recipes, preparing ingredients, following step by step instructions, learning kitchen safety, using appliances safely, cooking meals, cleaning up afterwards and storing food correctly.

Medication Support

Prompting, medication charts, safe storage and prescription support.

Our support workers can assist participants with medication support in a safe, respectful and organised way. This may include prompting or assisting with medication as outlined in the participant's support plan, following medication charts, recording medication support accurately, checking expiry dates, supporting medication routines and helping ensure medications are stored correctly.

Household Tasks

Cleaning, laundry, tidying and maintaining a safe, comfortable home.

Our support workers can assist participants with cleaning and organising their home in a way that supports safety, comfort and independence. This may include help with light household tasks, tidying, dishes, laundry, changing linen, organising personal items, setting up routines and keeping living spaces clean and manageable.

Personal Care

Showering, grooming, dressing and continence support β€” always with dignity and respect.

Our support workers can assist participants with personal care in a way that protects dignity, privacy, comfort and choice. This may include support with showering, toileting, oral care, grooming, dressing, continence management and bowel care, always guided by the participant's individual support plan, care needs and preferences.

In-Home Recreation

Board games, creative activities, sensory play and meaningful time at home.

Our support workers can assist participants with in-home recreational activities that encourage fun, connection, creativity and confidence. This may include board games, card games, puzzles, reading, music, art and craft, sensory activities, imaginative play, hobbies or simply spending time doing something the participant enjoys.

Understanding the
Codes on Your Invoice

Daily Living Assistance is usually funded from a participant's Core Supports budget under Assistance with Daily Life.

When you receive an invoice from Shyna Promise, you may notice NDIS support codes listed beside each service. These codes are the official NDIS line items used to show what type of support was delivered.
